Blacksmith, Wood Carver, Author and... Diver ?
After 37 years in the Canadian Navy as a diver and bomb disposal specialist, followed with another 7 years involved in explosive safety instruction, I now spend wonderful hours creating art work from wood and iron.
Until my recent move to London Ontario, I was fortunate to have both a blacksmith forge and woodworking shop behind our house in the quaint village of Schomberg. I spent as much time as possible either firing up the forge or using my woodworking tools. Now, I am very lucky to have access to a couple woodworking shops nearby and I have a small carving studio in my condo in the clouds. Please take a look at some of the items that I have had fun creating. To celebrate my passion for Blacksmithing, a couple years back I wrote a whimsical little book that explains the wonders of blacksmithing to small children, illustrated by a local artist, Chantal Duclos, in an amusing and delightful way. In April 2018, my children's book "Song of the Blacksmith" was published. You can find more information and a personal book reading video I made on the book page, I hope you enjoy it! |
